The Mission Goes On: Evangelism in North East Rwanda Field

The North East Rwanda Field is composed of 20 organized districts and 5 mission districts. It oversees 208 churches located within Nyagatare and Gatsibo Districts, as well as 4 sectors of Kayonza District. Due to the ongoing process of church building renovations, 204 out of the 208 church buildings have been closed, leaving only 4 churches open to date, as of June 2025.

These churches have now been closed for ten months, having been shut down since August 2024. Despite these challenges, the Church has faithfully continued its mission of proclaiming the Everlasting Gospel. In collaboration with local government authorities, evangelistic meetings were held in areas where permission was granted; in places where public meetings were not possible, Friendship Evangelism and house-to-house outreach were conducted.

As a result of these dedicated efforts, 597 precious souls surrendered their lives to Christ through baptism.
